Large-Scale Timeline Graphic for E.P. Barrus
MicroGraphix designed a large-scale timeline graphic for E.P. Barrus, showcasing the company’s history from its foundation in 1917 through to the present day.
Nearly 18.5 metres long, the timeline was created for the company’s office space, transforming a large area of wall into an engaging visual feature. It brings together key dates, milestones and developments from more than a century of E.P. Barrus history, presenting the information in a clear and accessible way.
Although designed for an office environment rather than a traditional exhibition, the project uses many of the same principles of exhibition design – combining information, typography and visual storytelling to communicate a company's history within a physical space.
The graphic design also had to work around the practical constraints of the existing environment. The timeline was carefully planned to fit around existing furniture, light sockets and other features, while maintaining a consistent layout and clear visual flow across the full length of the installation.
At this scale, careful consideration was given to layout, typography, proportions and the positioning of individual elements. The result is a cohesive piece of large-format graphic design that allows visitors and staff to follow the story of E.P. Barrus from 1917 to today.
The project demonstrates how thoughtful graphic design and exhibition design principles can transform a physical environment into an informative and engaging visual experience.
